Flyin' High
20" x 29" in
(51 x 72 cm)
15" x 20" in (38 x 51 cm)
Flyin' High by Bern Foster captures a windsweeper in mid-air, epitomizing the exhilaration and raw power of oceanic adventure.
The vivid hues of blues dominate the illustration board, from the intense cerulean of the sky to the deeper cobalt of the formidable wave cresting below.
The artist has masterfully painted the movement of the sea, with the wave appearing almost translucent as it curls over in a mesmerizing arc. The focal point of this piece is the dynamic figure atop the windsurfing board. The athlete is suspended in a gravity-defying leap, demonstrating immense skill and control. Their body is taut with concentration, poised perfectly to challenge the wave’s next move.
The pink sail, a striking contrast against the blue backdrop, adds a pop of color while capturing the wind’s pure force. Every detail, from the frothy white spray of the water to the whispering tendrils of wind captured in the sail, is rendered with meticulous precision.
This artwork doesn't just depict a moment but immerses the viewer in the thrill and breathtaking beauty of this high-adrenaline sport.
The commanding composition and vibrant palette make this piece a captivating and invigorating celebration of the sea's untamed energy and the fearless spirit of adventure.

About Bern Foster
Hailing from the beaches of the south of Spain, Bern Foster, is a multi-disciplinary international illustrator recognized for his retro and vibrant aesthetic.
His art immediately get you to nostalgia, using aesthetics as his greatest strength and the seductive allure of capitalism as a source of inspiration. Bern has always thought that it was his childhood memories, such as TV ads from late 80’s, movies, and music that inspired him to use his style and aesthetic.
“Sometimes, I am listening music which inspires me to think about my next illustration, or I am painting an illustration that makes me think about an specific song, it’s like if my art and music are connected to each other, like in a TV ad”, says Bern.
Despite being passionate about illustration, Bern started working as a Design engineer in 2012, and a year later he decided to finance his art with the money he earned as an engineer, until the hobby of illustrator became a real profession.
He never attended a single art class, as he learned with his own discipline, adopting techniques and influences from other illustrators such as Bob Peak, Masao Saito, Hajime Sorayama, Hiroshi Nagai, or Eizin Suzuki.
He made his first commissions between 2013 and 2015, for small private clients and independent fashion brands, also album covers and promotional content for social media. However, was Bern’s personal portfolio what attracted potential clients in the fashion and music industry, as he always painted for himself in his spare time when he wasn’t working for a client.
Was through his personal projects that he experimented with different techniques until he found his own style.
In 2019, Bern started working for the fashion industry, collaborating with exclusive brands such as Nude Project, Reina Olga Beachwear, or Filippa K. Selected clients: Nude Project, Warner Records, Reina Olga Beachwear, Eglaf, Dunne Brand, TWRP Band, Mayol Jewelry, Filippa K, Beast in Black, Tayrell Music, CRMEN fashion book Magazine, ASBS Magazine, Rebelión Galactica Magazine, Reflective Desire Studio, Avant Garde Records, Beast in Black Band, Northstar Studios, Davinci´s Dream.
